KARACHI:

The Sindh High Court (SHC) issued notices to YouTuber Adil Farooq Raja and others on the plea of a well-known actress Rabia Khan popularly known by her industry name Kubra Khan and ordered the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to block the defaming content posted by the accused.

According to details, the petitioner's counsel stated that Adil Farooq Raja vilified four actresses on social media and one of them was my client.

He said that Raja has harmed the reputation of these actresses through an unfounded propaganda.

The court issued a notice to Adil Farooq Raja and others involved while seeking their response on the case.

The court has accepted the request for an urgent hearing and ordered to block the disparaging content by the YouTuber on social media against the four actresses.

The court adjourned the hearing till January 9 and ordered the PTA and FIA to submit their answer at the next hearing.

Delimitation issue

The Sindh High Court (SHC) has summoned the parties for January 10 on a request for urgent hearing on the petitions of MQM-Pakistan against the delimitation of various districts of Karachi.

A two-member SHC bench, headed by Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro, remarked that the Supreme Court has already given a judgment on the constituencies.

The counsel for MQM-Pakistan submitted that their petitions were about demarcation of towns; therefore the Election Commission of Pakistan could not be a party. The petitions are against the decision of the Delimitation of Appellate Authority on behalf of voters. Demarcations are made by the Sindh government.

The Additional Advocate General took the stand that such applications have already been rejected by the Supreme Court.
