A squad of Defence police station, acting on a tip-off, raided a mechanic shop near Kala Pul and arrested a suspect on charges of dealing in stolen bikes.

Police claimed to have recovered chassis of stolen motorcycles from him.

According to South police spokesperson, the arrested suspect, Zaheer, was involved in selling spare parts of stolen motorcycles.

The police have allegedly recovered four chassis of stolen motorcycles from the shop. Cops said the suspect had erased the numbers so that the chassis could not be identified.

According to the spokesman, hashish was also recovered from the accused during the search.

Police have registered a case against Zaheer and handed him over to the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) for further investigation.
