PESHAWAR:

The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has disposed of the plea against the settlement officer’s transfer, accepting the provincial government's assurance that a decision on the applicant's departmental appeal will be made within 15 days.

The officer had approached the court claiming that his transfer was made on the recommendation of Chief Minister's Advisor for Revenue Pir Haroon.

PHC’s division bench comprising Justice Shakil Ahmed and Justice Sahibzada Asadullah Khan heard petitioner Irshad’s plea.

Additional Advocate General Daniyal Khan Chamkani and Assistant Advocate General Hassan Tariq also attended the hearing.

The petitioner maintained in his plea that he was posted as settlement officer in Abbottabad-Mansehra -- but was transferred on the recommendation of the chief minister's advisor for revenue. He claimed that this transfer is a political move, praying that the court should declare it null and void.

On the other hand, the court also heard the arguments of Advisor Pir Haroon, who informed the court that there were some complaints against the petitioner, which led to his transfer.
